Purchased a Nasi Goreng and a Chicken Laksa today. The containers in which they were given are quite sturdy and big, so happy with that. There are also numerous spots to pull over and park along Lake Cushman, which offers wonderful swimming opportunities. Be aware, however, that many of the popular swimming spots on Lake Cushman can be extremely crowded on sunny summer days. Northwest of the Visitor Center parking lot is a quick, relatively easy trail where you and your dog can hike and stretch your legs.

The trail from Port Townsend approaches along east edge of the parking area. The trail to the south descends at a moderate grade from the trailhead, and then rises slightly and falls again within 0.75 miles of the parking area. It is then relatively level south for another 1.5 miles. The trail then turns east along Douglas Wy, where it descends toward S.

Still, Four Stream has charms all its own, not the least of which is the feeling of venturing into more remote territory. Along the way, we passed through a lovely stand of alders. Near the end, the trail passes along an open bluff over the North Fork Skokomish River. Our trip to Staircase Rapids was more spontaneous than most. Michael and I had spend the weekend at Alderbrook Resort on the Hood Canal, and without either the kids or dog, we were free agents.
I do not recommend trying if you're in a large Class A. PARK FEATURES Dosewallips State Park is a 1,064-acre, year-round camping park with 5 miles of shoreline on Hood Canal and the Dosewallips River. All camp areas are grassy and located in scenic, rustic settings. Klahowya Campground is one of the lesser-known Lake Crescent camping options. This is likely because it is located about 10 minutes from the lake along the lovely Sol Duc River and Highway 101.

Every Oporto I've visited provides the Familia Feed, except this one. The staff advised they don't do it here, perhaps they missed the memo that franchises cater for the same, consistent menu. Workers appear unenthusiastic and cumbersome, you get more charisma from a self-serve Kiosk terminal. The store is filthy and unkept, staff reluctant to provide a decent clean. We ordered large fries which were delivered soggy and stale, so we got up and asked for a fresh batch and the staff deliberated for 5 mins about whether the exchange should be fulfilled. Owner should take a very good look at whether he/she should run this franchise and ruin the image of Oporto.

Unfortunately chicken wrap was falling apart, lettuce was soggy with sauce everywhere and the chicken strips were burnt and dry- chips were good though. That said, if you have time on your way into the park, you could visit Hurricane Ridge on the day of arrival. From Port Angeles, the drive takes almost an hour. Staying at Lake Crescent Lodge is the best option if you want to do a lot of recreational activities on the lake.
They're always kind and polite and if you have any requests they always try their best to accommodate it. When you order pho they give you the tiniest sliver of lemon which barely squeezes out a drop. My issue was that the lamb used to fall off the bone and was soft, however this has not been consistent and often ill get very tough pieces that are hard to chew. The mi Goreng I ordered had 5 shreds of chicken in it, which was extremely disappointing.
The best place to stay to explore Hurricane Ridge and Lake Crescent / the Sol Duc Valley is either Port Angeles or Lake Sutherland . And we’d split it roughly right down the middle (if you have an odd number of nights, we’d probably choose to spend the extra night in Forks over Port Angeles, but it’s close to a toss up). Before we get into the specific places to stay below, we really need to take a second to talk about the park’s geography up front. Our cozy rooms and suites at Seacrest House each feature a private patio or balcony with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. I would bring your widest lens to capture the tall trees and show off the scale of the area. But I’d also bring your normal lens set up to get detailed shots of the moss and different textures.

Unlike some of the other beaches I’ve recommended above, you won’t find moody pebbles or mysterious sea stacks along Kalaloch Beach. What you will find, though, is one of the most unique things you’ll see on the entire Olympic Peninsula- the Tree of Life. This unusual tree is a massive sitka spruce that’s seemingly “floating” between two sandy bluffs, supported only by a few root tendrils clinging to the cliffside. There’s several Hoh Rainforest hikes to help you explore this magical place. Salt Creek Recreation Area, which sits outside of the national park, is a bit of a hidden gem. The Olympic National Park is one of the region’s most phenomenal locations.
If you’re feeling strong, you can extend your hike up to the ridge on the backside of Mt. Angeles. Very far off the beaten path, every time I camp here I don’t run into anyone. You’re camping on the Ridgeline so it can be a bit windy. All other facilities that I had looked at were not staffed in a way to make this possible. No extra charge was asked for and it was clear that they along with all the other staff really wanted to make our stay and concert experience as good as possible.
